Bruce's Story
Bruce G. Kitchel is the Lower 48 Chief Drilling and Completions Engineer for ConocoPhillips. A drilling engineer, Kitchel has 33 years experience in the oil and natural gas industry.
Kitchel began his career in 1982 at Kerr McGee Corporation in Morgan City, Louisiana as a drilling and completions engineer working in the Gulf of Mexico and Gulf States. He joined ConocoPhillips in 1988, serving as a deep water drilling engineer. Kitchel was born in 1958 in Houston, TX. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering in 1982. He attended Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, graduating with a masterÂÂs degree in business administration in 2001.
He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the American Association of Drilling Engineers. Kitchel serves as an advisor to the Mays Executive MBA Program at Texas A&M University.
