Bruce's Story
Bruce LePorte's Post High School Abridged Autobiography
After graduation I attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on a wrestling scholarship. Things were going well until I suffered a career ending injury. So after my sophomore year I had reconstructive surgery on my ankle and transferred to Oswego State College. In the summer of 1986 my family went to Europe to attend my sister Michelle¿s wedding. It was awesome, just like a story book. We stayed for a month and went to France, Italy, Switzerland, and Germany. In December I graduated with a B.S. degree in Business Administration. Then I spent the next few years deciding what I wanted to do when I grew up. In 1990 I went back to school for my teaching certification. While taking night classes, I was a substitute teacher and wrestling coach at Fulton High School from 1991-1993. In the summer of 1993 I used my love for photography to land a job taking pictures at Fulton Speedway for the Palladium Times Newspaper in Oswego. e and coach at Pulaski Jr./Sr. High from 1994-1997. In 1996 I got married and bought my first house, a log cabin on five acres in Pulaski. In the summer of 1997 I was asked to be the Track Photographer at Fulton Speedway which I accepted for two years. That was a lot of fun. In the fall of 1997 I started teaching seventh grade mathematics and coaching the Varsity wrestling team at Onondaga Jr./Sr. High. I stayed there from 1997-2001. From 1998 to 2000 I went to work for the Gater Racing News taking pictures of D.I.R.T. track racing, sprint cars, and NASCAR. I finished my Masters in Secondary Education Mathematics at Oswego State. In the fall of 2001 I got a job teaching Algebra and coaching wrestling at Camden High School. In 2007 I gave up coaching and my wife and I built a new home. Still in Pulaski but on 22 acres and surrounded by 300 acres of NY State land. It¿s in the middle of nowhere and we love it! Over the years we have had many dogs, no children. Currently we have two dogs and two cats. I still enjoy racing and nature photography. See my photo album for the pictures of my life.
I hope to hear from you,
