Bruce Moore:  

'63 Norland. Some of our teachers were good and I thank them for helping me become modestly successful. Like Miss Bartesec, she was the best English teacher. There were others too. Bryant, Murray, Penn, Hahn, Dawkins, Pacheco. Conversely, I would like to say that I was modestly successful "in spite" of some teachers that perhaps should have chosen different professions than the one that is supposed to teach and nurture children. In my opinion Gilcrest was the top of my list for getting enjoyment from humiliating me publicly as I struggled with Chemistry. My favorite story is Mrs Stroud, Biology: Crowning 10th grade moment for me. I unwittingly asked her during the genes lecture, If brown eyes are dominant, then after all these years, why are there still blue eyed people? Her answer: "Bruce, that's a stupid question." (That was her whole answer.) Enjoyed high school in general because of my fellow students mostly. Some good people went to Norland. Married Dottie Eyerdam, class of '65 in 1965. Three great children.
