Bruce's Story
Where did the last 50 years go.
59-61 Orange Coast College--swimming, water polo and student government.
61-64 Church mission (Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints) Norway.
64-65 Brigham Young University. Met Linda--married June 65. We have 4 sons and 11 grandchildren.
July 65 to March 93 Los Angeles City Fire Department. Three years rescue squad/rescue ambulance. Ten years apparatus operator (driver/operator aerial ladder truck). Fifteen years helicopter pilot. The fire department schdule allowed me to do a number of things on my days off. Along the way I got my private pilots license--1969. r and Helicopter Instructor ratings 1972. Multi-engine rating 1973. Corporate pilot/accountant for the Plastic Surgery Center in Beverly Hills--73-76. Pilot/accountant for a CPA firm in Palm Springs--76-90.
Linda & I have lived in Downey--65-72, Acton--72-76, Yucca Vally--76-81, Simi Valley--81-88. In 1988 we moved to Springville, UT and I commuted to Van Nuys until 1993. In 1991, I pinched a nerve in my neck while helping to lift a very heavy patient into the helicopter. I had to have two levels of my neck fused and was placed on pension in 1993.
We have had a bookkeeping/tax service since 1981 with clients in Arizona, California and Utah.
