Bruce's Story

I'm married with two adult, married children and 2, soon to be 4, grandchildren. My wife Kate and I are currently living near Sarasota, FL with a summer cottage on Cape Cod. I retired in '10, after 17 years as president of Inventory Locator Service LLC, a successful Internet based company of 125 employees. ILS became a subsidiary of Boeing in '06. ILS provides the aviation and defense industries with technology and capabilities that assist them in managing their supply chain and operational activities. Kate and I are both active in supporting non-profits associated with helping those less fortunate and their children. Prior to ILS, I was the general manager for a regional airline, dba Northwest Airlink, for 5 years. I started working as a baggage loader at FLL, as a way of working my way through college (Fla. Atlantic '69). After graduation I spent another 20+ years working in various managerial and executive position including a stint at the Miami headquarters. I left EAL in '88, a few years before it stopped operating. I also met my wife, who was a flight attendant and training manager, while working at Eastern. We were married in Georgetown in '81. raphy, fishing and boating. I'd also like to get back to flying (private pilot with about 500 hours) but haven't had the time. Our children, Jessica and Matthew, born in '83 and '84, are living in London and Boston respectively,. Jessi graduated from Miami University ('05), Ohio, and is expecting her first child in April '20 with husband Martin., Matt graduate from Vanderbilt ('07) and Nothwestern (MBA) in '12. He and wife Erica have 2 children and will welcome #3 this coming summer. 2020 will be a busy year for the Langsen ladies. My sister Cindy class of '65, is living with her husband Bill, near Atlanta and my brother Larry (Nova '69) lives near Cindy with his wife Carolyn. My most interesting high school memory was getting suspended for 3 days, 3 weeks before graduation. A friend and I had produced a series of buttons (humorous, we thought) and sold them as a way of paying for prom. While having my father come to school to pick me up didn't seem like such a fun thing at the time, it now brings a smile to to both of us; he's 96, so smiling is good. I would feel very fortunate if I were still smiling at 96, with a sense of humor as well. I hope all who read this are well and happy.
