It has been a long time since Clarkstown's class of '66. I haven't lived in NY since going into the military.I gave Uncle Sam 3 years, 6 months and 6 days active duty.I took a short trip across the pond in '69-'70. Came home, got married, School, work, 4 kids, more work, we lived in FL, PA, CA, AZ,and for the last several decades South Carolina. My oldest daughter is an RN in Manhattan, Ks, my younger daughter has her Masters in Educational Arts from the University of South Carolina and teaches in Beaufort, SC.My oldest son put in one tour in the Marine Corp, and has a successful equine hoof care business, my youngest son was a Federal law enforcement officer and in the Army Reserve, spent almost 8 out of 14 years on active duty. Deployed to Iraq in 2006 he was wounded outside of Dora in April of 2007. He was hospitalized at Brooks Army Medical Center from April until September 2007. He was Medically retired from the Army in October 2009 and is now being taken care of by the VA. He has always been our hero, the Army added a little. He is a combat decorated veteran, The Bronze Star, Purple Heart, over 200 combat missions. 3 of the 4 kids live within about 10 miles of Gail (my wife of 47 years)and me, all but 1 of our 7 grandchildren live here as well.
