Bryan's Story

Life Well since H.S. I spent a couple of years in Junior College at Connors St. in Warner, OK. I then joined the Okla. Air Nat'l Guard where I am still serving proudly and am now going on 18 years of sevice part time. I also went to school at both OSU and UCO when at the time I was originally planning on being a school teacher and a coach but decided that there just wasn't much of a financial future where I could make a comfortable living. So I worked some different odd jobs in the mean time. I worked for Sears for a few years and then at Shepler's Western Wear for a few more years as a boot salesman before I finally got hired on at Tinker AFB as a Fed. civilian employee in Sept. of 1999 and have been employed there full time since then. I finally have a decent job with decent pay and good benefits and I like it there. I work as a painter for engines in a blade repair facility building. I mostly paint engine components and engine blades for corrosion control purposes. It's a pretty simple job. I can't hardly believe how things have changed and progressed so much as far as technology in our world today from the days when I was in scool. I used to hear the stories from my folks and grandparents and other elders about how we had it so easy compared to when they were young and now I am the one telling those same stories. Technology has really made things so much simpler today and you can even make a decent living and have a career without a college education even though it does help it's just no longer necesssary. That was practically unheard of when we were kids in school. As far as my life outside of work, I never got married. I am still a single bachelor and I never had or have any kids. I bought a nice home in Moore, OK and I really love it here. It's a nice town just on the fringe of south side OKC and I'm close to just about everything including work at both of my jobs Tinker and the Guard. Everything is pretty convenient for me. While I have no kids or ...Expand for more
pets I do love to visit my sisters Carrie in Lincoln, NE and Laura in Nashville, TN and especially my 2 nephews Connor and Ryan who are my sister Carrie's 2 sons. I don't get to see them often but I love to take advantage of the time with them when I do. I like to take some time to travel every now and then when time and money permits. I have been to a few nice places. Also being in the Guard has allowed me to take some nice trips and see some pretty cool things as well. One of the things I find so shocking now is how expensive everything has gotten just since I graduated back in '88. Especially the price of oil and gas. I can recall one time when our then Vo-Ag instructor Bill Forgey back at Wellston H.S. told our class that we would one day see the price of gas rise to $5.00 a gallon. We all thought Mr. Forgey had totally lost his mind. No way was gas ever going to be that high. (Of course back then gas was still under $1.00 a gallon too.) AS it turns out Mr. Forgey wasn't too far off. It seems we are getting closer and closer to that mark every day. It doesn't seem like it was all that long ago when I graduated from H.S. and we were paying less than a buck a gallon for gas. Boy how things have changed in just a few short years and where has the time gone?! Life really passes by so fast anymore these days. That became even more appearant to me a year ago when I lost my grandfather who I was very close to and loved dearly. I will always miss him. Life is short when we put it in perspective, so we should really appreciate every day that God gives us and allows us to live one more day. Well thats about it for me and my life since my H.S. days. There's not much else to tell about but if anybody out there would like to hit me up to see how things are going, I'd love to hear from you. If you'd like to stay in touch, just ask me for my e-mail and I'll gladly give it to you. God Bless to everyone and I hope you are having a wonderfull life. Thanks, Bryan
