Bryant's Story
Life
Life in the low-end 40s is fun.... Children growing into young adults, lots of challenges and opportunities for personal growth! I am a total sun-worshipper, so living in Phoenix is the perfect place for me.
I enjoy doing things with my family, also with my brother and sister who also live in the area.
I have learned to work to live, instead of live to work...
I try to live by the motto of seeing if i can leave this place a little better than i found it... :)
School
Going to school in Santa Fe was a blast... Yes, I am sure you will all laugh, but my most inspiring teacher was..... Mrs. Najjar! I loved chemistry, so clearly that explains my undergraduate degree.
Hanging out with my friends was my favorite memory - most notably everyone from Troop 49, including: Richard Kinsgbury, David Kingsbury, Wesley (Rumpel) Morris, Warren Rumpel, Doug Romeg, The Sneed and Cisneros brothers, Chris and Fred Beck, and of course, my partner in crime Jay Cone.
I also enjoyed my friends on the swim team -- Karen and Karla Kruhm, Cathy Dixon, Amy Winter, Bulters, Spragues, Boatrights, et. al.! My daughter is particulary appreciative that I learned how to french braid hair on those long bus rides to swim meets! (particular thanks to Karen Kruhm!)

ep was medical school, right?
I attended Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta Georgia from 1985-1989. I was married in 1988 and then started my residency in Internal Medicine after earning my M.D.
Well, it turned out that I had missed my calling -- I had absolutely no time to spend on my passion (computer programming) during my residency. I completed my first year of residency, passed the boards and was licensed in Georgia to practice medicine.
So, I decided to get some formal training in computer science. I applied and was accepted to Georgia Tech. and completed my M.S. there in 1991. I "moonlighted" as a physician during that time at cardiac rehab. centers and a high profile alcohol & drug rehab. facility.
I was offered and accepted a job to work at Intel in early 1992. We moved to Portland Oregon.
Workplace
Bryant E. Bigbee is a Senior Intel Fellow and Director of Systems Software in the Software Solutions Group, based in Arizona. I direct work on the design and optimization of processor and chipset interfaces to operating systems, drivers and firmware.
