Bud's Story
I'm still alive. Shocking I know.
After spending my Sophomore year at Dickson, I moved back to South Dakota. Shortly thereafter I took my parents to court and was emancipated. I drifted around a bit, got in some trouble with the law then got my act back together and moved to Mitchell, SD. After spending 2 years there partying full time and working part time, I landed a good job at one of the larger welding/manufacturing companies. Did well, made good money, was working my way up into management..... and screwed it up pretty good by first dating, then getting pregnant, the head honcho's only daughter. That pretty much canned any hope of advancement in the company even though she and I married and had 2 children.
Things were still good. Married, 2 great kids both cute as hell, good paying job.... but to support that life, I found myself working 65-70 hours/week. I wasn't home much except to sleep and shower, then off to work again.
The wife got lonely and decided to start screwing around. First time I found out I forgave her, we all make mistakes right? The second time she used the children as leverage to keep me from filing for divorce. Third time? Her stuff was on the lawn in less than an hour. And I mean ALL her stuff.

party. More people showed up to that than for my wedding.), a move to Sioux Falls SD, and a new job at FedEx later, I was doing alright.
I found Sioux Falls a bit too big and busy for my tastes though and after driving thru town all day delivering, the last thing I wanted to do was go out. So in effect I became a hermit. Aside from the occasional Billiards night or Paintball Tournement, I stayed home.
I left FedEx after 2 years and moved around in state a bit trying to find somewhere to settle close enough to keep visiting my children on weekends. I ended up in Madison SD working at Arctic Cat until they shut the doors and moved the plant back to Minnesota.
I now work for Persona. If you ever drive by a large lit sign for Days Inn, Comfort Inn, ALDI, Papa Johns, Holiday Inn, Merriot, Cenex..... I just might have made that sucker.
This is a very abridged version of my life. Telling everything would take far too long for me to have the patience to type out.
PS: Not too brag but somehow I went from Uberdork in high school to being pretty damn good with the ladies. Don't ask me how as I am not good looking and have never been rich, but somehow someway, dating was never a problem.
Must be the charm and sophistication.
