Buddy's Story
I enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1963 before graduation and spent my Senior Trip in SE Asia (Chu Lai, RVN). After my discharge I went to work in a casino dealing craps and 21. I worked in as Vegas, Reno, Lake Tahoe, Gardena and No Dakota. Along the way I worked on drill rigs, drove semis, police officer, bartender,construction work, and cabinet maker (now a hobby).
I am divorced, widowed, and married in that order. At this time I am living in western Idaho with my wife Desiree and two sons age 4 and 7. I have 3 children from my first marriage and 3 step kids from my second. me to enjoy them a lot more than when I had to be fighting the rat race all the time.
I tell them stories of when I was a kid growing up in Redondo: the beaches from Hermosa to Palos Verdes, the Canteen, the games we played (without battery-operated toys) and try to instill in them the zest for life we had back then. I compare their schools to Tulita, Hillcrest, and RUHS. Strange how learning has changed just in our lifetime.
