Buddy's Story

Here's my short story, After graduation I went to work for an auto parts distributor, which did NOT turn out to be a lot of fun. So, on a whim I joined the Merchant Marine and did that for a while. I had a lot of fun and went to some interesting places but it wasn't the kind of thing one would do forever. So, again on a whim I joined the Air Force and went to as Colorado, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Germany, and finally northern Maine. Of my Air Force time, three and one half years were in Athens, Greece which WAS a lot of fun (what parts I can remember....like I said... a LOT of fun). After the Air Force I went to work for Lockheed Electronics Company (LEC) at the Manned Space Flight Center south of Houston, Texas and worked on the space shutt...Expand for more
le development program in the Metrology (not meteorology) Laboratory. After a year or so I transferred with Lockheed to Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company (LMSSC) in Silverdale, Washington where I live now. While working for LMSSC here I went to school at night and received a BSEL Chapman University. Over a period of about 25 years I have worked my way through the Metrology and Engineering departments. I'm currently the senior manager for engineering at the Strategic Weapons Facility on Naval Submarine Base Bangor where LMSSC provides Trident II D5 missiles for the west coast Trident Submarine Fleet. It¿s a very exciting and fun job and I¿ll probably continue doing it for another five or six years until I retire. Thats my story...so far.
