Buel's Story
Has it been 60 years since we graduated from good old CHS. Wow!
Just a little history of my life since then. After high school I went to CJC and graduated in 54. I joined the Marine Corp and served until 56. When I was discharged I married June Staton (class of 56). I guess we all married young in those days. We had three children - two boys and a girl. I went back to college and received my teaching credential. In 1959 I began my teaching career at Montclair HS and remained there until retirement in 1995. I taught primarily US History and coached football and baseball at the lower levels. I also taught part time at night at Chaffey JC. I really enjoyed teaching and never regretted my decision to become a teacher.
2001 was a terrible year for the USA and for me personally. I lost my wife after 44 years of marriage and my oldest son 8 months later. But we accept the cards w...Expand for more
e are dealt and move on.I have a great son and daughter-in-law (both pharmacists) and the perfect daughter (teacher) and son-in-law. I have four grandchildren the eldest girl(25) is teaching English at Ayala HS. It runs in the family.Another girl #2 a graduate of UCLA and works in a research lab at UCLA while continuing her education. My only grandson is a senior at Univ. of Redlands and my youngest granddaughter is at the Univ. of Calif. Davis. I'm very proud of them.
I live on the golf course at Upland Hills and play a lot of golf these days. I also do a little volunteering at the Upland Animal Shelter. I love to read and watch old history documentaries. My BFF is Bailey (AKA Peanut) who is a pembroke welsh corgi who thinks he is human but does not speak the language very well.
Since we can't go back and start over I wish all of you the best for our remaining years!
