Kevin's Story
After highschool had a short stint in the army national guard .Moved to p.a for a year or so but couldn't hack the pace. Lived in a couple local apartments with various roomates.Worked at a N.J trucking outfit in linden N.J for a few years with Randy Taylor.Left that co. in 93 to work at Anchor Glass Container in Aberdeen. Thought I found my home but as luck would have it plastic bottles were the wave of the future and the parent corp. decided to shut that plant down.In 1995 I started work at N.J.Steel in Sayerville. Worked from the bottom ranks and in two short years was at the top spot operating a 150 ton steel production furnace.I actually enjoyed this line of work as grueling as it was and remained there until 2000. In may of 2000 I happened to here about a job opening at an oil refinery located on the Linden/Elizabeth border(If you ever travel to Newark Airport you can't miss it)I started to look into what type of work it was and found the process very interesting.I...Expand for more
was hired and have been there ever since. I'm currently an asst. operator of a 249k.barrel per day crude oil distillation unit for the conocophillips petroleum co.We produce gasoline,heating oil,fuel oil,plastics and a host of other petroleum products. The company is worldwide and a top earner in this field.
As far as my personal life,things are good.I have two great kids,my step son nicholas. He's 16 and currently attends our old high school.I also have a 9 year old son named arron who goes to cooper school. I met my wife Christie in 1996. she is a mail carrier in Rumson.We have a great house in the Knollcroft section of Cliffwood Beach that we have done extensive renovatios to.We have settled nicley into the daily grind of work,house,shuttle kids here and there,feed the dog and so on.
I still see some familiar faces around like anthony zinni, mike sherry,rob and patty kurzydlowski gary and nancy weber henry penley and others who have remained local
