Edward's Story

My life has been interesting, or at least I think it is! After graduation. I attended Orange Coast College as many of us did. Of course I fell in love and married too young to a very nice girl We were fortunate to be given a daughter, Valerie who now lives in Sacramento. She and I are close and she has had two children who are now adults. I divorced after a few years. In 1972 I was accepted to the California Highway Patrol where I worked throughout the state as a Patrol Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain. I retired at age 50 after 30 years of service. My last command was in Victorville and I resided and still do in Apple Valley Ca. In 1999 I was elected to the Apple Valley Town Council where I served two terms as a council member as well as two terms as Mayor. I have been blessed with two daughters from my second marriage and both have graduated from college and are doing very well in life. I did what all the quote experts say to not do, I fell in love with Desiree who worked with me at the CHP. We have been together 18 years and have three boys, 12, 14, and 17. Following my political career and joined the Board Of Directors for a local community hospital where I served as Chairman for 6 years. At the same time, I was on the Board of directors of a community based credit union. During the economic downturn the credit union was merged with the Alaska Federal Credit Union based in Anchorage Alaska. Following my hospit...Expand for more
al and credit union time I was Foreman of the San Bernardino County Grand Jury from 2011 to 2013. My wife was unfortunately injured while with the CHP and was forced to retire after 20 years of service. Not ready to totally retire, she entered the real estate field and over the last 6 years has built a very successful business. We are both Harley riders and enjoy getting out riding as much as we can. My middle son is taking flight lessons now and he has set his goal to be accepted to the United States Air Force Academy. My oldest son is much like me, he has not a clue on what he wants to do! I am confident it will come to him. Thanks for reading my story, Updating in 2020, my oldest son Zachary is now in the Real Estate business with my wife. My two other sons, Matthew 19 and Nicolas age 17 are both in college. Matthew is a sophomore at USC majoring in Arerospace Engineering. He was fortunate enough to receive a full ride scholarship from the US Air Force. Nicholas is in his first year at Cal State Northridge. He is majoring in Film and Television production. He has made the Deans list and we are very proud. I am just completing my fourth year as a Docent at the Petersen Automobile Museum in Los Angeles. We bought a second home in Upland near the Metrolink station so I can take advantage of getting to the museum without the hassles of traffic. My primary function at the museum is providing educational tour for students grades K to 12
