Butch's Story
I moved from Lubbock to Houston in 1988 and managed Jazz bars and restaurants while in school. I married at 20 which didn't work out well and divorced at 23. At 25 I left my job and bought a motorcycle which I rode for 2 months through the midwest and East coast. I graduated from University of Houston with a degree in MIS. Worked for BFI and then Deloitte Consulting. While at Deloitte I lived and worked in Singapore and travelled quite a bit in Asia. me. I have now been at SAP (a large German software company) for 6 years. I usually make 1-2 trips a year to Europe for business which I usually extend into a vacation since I have several friends abroad due to the nature of my company. My wife and I lost a baby (Julia Eileen) during birth due to a cord accident in 2005 but have been fortunate to have had Sydney Elaine in 2007 and Katherine Elise in 2008. We currently live in Austin but would still work in Europe for a couple of years when the girls are a little older and can appreciate it.
