Byron's Story

During and after high school I worked at the Crown Hill, then Mercer Island Safeway for a while then joined the USAF. I was stationed at Mt. Home AFB, Idaho for a year, then spent two years at RAF Lakenheath in the UK. I've never lived in a college dorm, but a military barracks I'm sure is very similar. After coming home I went back to work for Safeway in North City until going into law enforcement, private investigations and security full time. A few months after leaving active duty I joined the Washington Air National Guard, 141st Security Police, completing 20 years total service and entered the Retired Reserve in 1994. One job I really enjoyed was the six years working security at Rainier Ba...Expand for more
nk. My time in the Air Guard also had some great adventures. My career in juvenile rehab. started at Naselle Youth Camp, a former USAF radar base. I transferred to Green Hill in Chehalis after it was rebuilt in 1999. I live in Cinebar with its views of Mt. St. Helens and fising at Lake Mayfield. I stay active as a volunteer with the local fire protection district, now being the Station 4 Chief, Cinebar, where we have a modern urban-wildland interface engine, a tender and an ambulance. I normally respond to over 100 calls each year, mostly medical. My inspiration in life comes from Jesus Christ. The world would be a much better place if biblical principles were practiced in everyone's affairs.

Not long ago it was a newborn grandson, today it was a newborn baby deer in the front yard. I love living in the country.
Grandson is about three months old. He will be walking and talking before we know it.

Covid is obviously being used as a weapon in more ways than one. Inslee's day of reckoning will come.
Our wiener dog says she needs attention too, not just the blue-eyed baby.
Grandbaby is about four months, is teething and now has discovered fingers.
Grandson is growing like a weed. I was going to take a nap, but he was in my spot on the bed.
GrowBox is leading the way in growing tomato plants, many blossoms, some fruit. TopsyTurvey now has a few blossoms on four of seven plants, no fruit. The potential for a lot of fruit is there, provided we have a long summer.
Grandson is always happy to see Grandpa, he's close to five months old already.
Grandson almost five months old, always happy to see grandpa.
Never Forget, that morning seems like yesterday.
Grandson always has a smile for grandpa.
I'm happy the grandson is not waking me up at 3am, he's now waiting until 5am, so I go to bed earlier and all is good.
Grandson is growing fast.
Grandson now almost 6 months old, still always has a smile for grandpa.

My youngest brother got his elk on opening day in the Colocum over towards Wenatchee.
Grandson Vesemir is always happy to see grandpa, because he knows I'm going to take him fishing when he is old enough.
