Byron's Story

Life Greetings! I hope your arrival here finds you well. Thanks for dropping in. I find a new and refreshing desire to reconnect with old friends. I hope that you'll be a part of that. Life has been awesome for me. Please send me an email. It would be great to reconnect with many of you. James Kew Elementary- I remember the fun years of 5th and 6th grade at James Kew Elementary School. I remember dancing the Slawson and lip sinking to the Beatles in Mr. Ross' 6th grade class. I remember my good friends Ben Konnell, Thumper Lane, Steve Schmidt and Boy Scout outings. I remember Linda Faulkenberg laughing hysterically because she was new to this country and didn't understand a thing. I remember her stabbing Scott Kirk with a pencil in class. I remember my first crush on Amelia Ives. I remember getting beat in the 50 yard dash by Ann Christopherson!!! I remember dancing and playing spin the bottle at parties at Roberta Ryan's and the homes of Scott Kirk and Leonard Siprit. Monroe Junior High- I remember having Sherri Wall and Teresa Bavarro in my 7th grade home room. I remember the fun dances at Darby Park on Friday Nights. And I remember getting busted for throwing news papers loaded with fire crackers at people and sneaking into Hollywood Race Track at night to fish on full moons with Glenn Shrimp and Thumper Lane (there were some big ole' bass in them thar lakes!!!). Morningside High- I remember ditching class to surf at Playa Del Rey, drinking Colt 45 and Old English and shooting the pier at Hermosa Beach. I remember being in the Choir and doing West Side Story with John Locke. I remember the great times hangin' with a great group of friends that included Larry Billick, Craig Frye, the Torres Brothers, Arlene Maccarone and Terri Goltz (Terri was sooo hot and I'll always remember her as my first love). I remember hangin' and getting VERY high with my good friend...Expand for more
s Dana Ritchhart, Henry Newton, Jim Maloon, Ray Hocking, Steve Lopez, Randy Unruh, Nancy Small, Artencia Valencia, Angie Morrett, Caroline Cantley and Pamela Chattin. I remember wearing black arm bands at graduation in protest of the Vietnam War. Currently- I now live and work as a real estate agent in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. I am still married to the same gal that I married in 1980. We have 3 grown children, and 2 granddaughters (Isabelle Jolie and Kierra Noel. Life has been good to me. I still love the water, especially at a 100'+ visibility. I love to fish, snorkel, ski (though it hurts a lot more when I fall) and I would love to surf again ("gotta catch that one last ride"!). I still love rock n' roll, smooth jazz and the blues. My current favorites are Eric Johnson, Joe Satrianni, Santana, Sarah's Brightman and McLachlan and also Sade. And I still get an adrenalin rush when I listen to Boston. And, I'm in love with my guitar(s) again. I love micro-brewed beers (malty not hoppy), quality red wines and quality chardonnays. I still love to ponder the mystery, awe and origin of life. And I absolutely adore those precious conversations with my granddaughters, Isabelle and Kierra. I would like to thank Sherri Wall for being such a wonderful friend to me after all of these years and for being a spark to reconnect many of us. I would also like to thank Sherrie Basch/Stelic for her love and friendship (someone should sign Sherrie and Herbie Taylor up as radio talk show hosts!!! I couldn't be more serious. They are a riot!!!). Mary and I had a great time at the Eric Clapton Concert in Vegas with Dana and Lizzie Ritchhart, Jim Maloon, Sye and Steve Lopez. It was great to reconnect and see each one my old friends. Again, I hope this moment finds you doing well and enjoying life to the max. Drop me a note and say hello. Love and peace, Byron (7/29/07)
