Donny's Story
Went to Torch Jr. High in La Puente before Bassett. Alot of my classmates from Torch ended up at Bassett. Who would have thought that the mascot at Bassett would be an Olympian. I always thought that it should have been a Hound, but I had a change of heart and Olympians was the right name for Bassett. Not many schools have Olympians as mascots, although, there is one here in Oregon(Sprague H.S.).
I have a twin brother that still lives in West LA. My younger sister also graduated from Bassett. She is in Sacramento these days. My fondest memories at Bassett were playing sports - Football, Tennis, Goin' Surfin and being a Yell-Leader on the Cheering squad. Music wise Deep Purp...Expand for more
le was my band back then. Led Zeppelin was too, but they had such a hugh following. Elton John was another singer I admired. "Your Song", "Daniel", "Candle in the Wind" and "Crocodile Rock" are the songs which brings back the high school days.
Nothing better than go to classmates.com to see all the folks that were a part of my high school experience.
Life may have changed for some dramatically, for others not so much, and then a few that may have gone on to a higher and better place. Just feel blessed to still be on this fantastic place called earth.
Anyone that may still remember me, drop me a note sometime. It's always great to hear someone from the "Blast from the Past".
