I didn't care for high school. Not at all.
I didn't come alive until the Marines, and even then only after a few years. Getting out of the Marines, there was a real tough adjustment period, as it took me awhile to figure out how to strike out on my own. I never saw myself as the serial monogamist type, but you travel down the path of time, and suddenly you look back and there is a trail of destruction behind you.
If I could have a redo, I would tell my long-lost friend from the mid-80's what she meant to me in that moment. I like to believe that I SHOWED her that she was loved, but unless you've explicitly told someone, you go through life never sure they knew.
