Calvin's Story
I guess the best way to describe my story is to say that it is basically the same story of many other people.
We all have dreams and visions of what we want to become and have happen in our lives. Other people and circumstances at times stand as an obstacle to making these things become a reality.
As far as myself is concerned, I retired from my occupation of 24 years as a facilites engineer in July of 2013.
Several years ago, I was telling my brother that it was a dream job in many ways. I got paid a fair amount of money to walk, fix things, and interact with people. It didn't have a lot of stress connected with it, like some jobs do. Now I receive a pension disbursement every month that covers the bills and leaves me enough money to have a life as well.
Two visions that I had as a young man were to be an entertainer of some kind, and also to have a job where I would be coordinating groups of people.

entertain at least once a week as a tribute artist emulating Neil Diamond.
People tell me that I do a good job at this, and I attribute it to the fact that I share some of his looks, personality, and voice. However, I had to work at the pronunciations and inflections of his vocal renditions, and also the movements of his hands and body.
I am considering getting into radio either as a talk show host, or teaching something. My father was a teacher by profession, so I have that ability that I have not been using on an extended scale; just private instruction.
Earlier in life, I was very active in a few religious groups. Later on, I would discover that there is a certain amount of disinformation being spread around by most of these groups that detracts from their credibility. But unlike many atheists, I have not let the discrepancies in man-made religious groups to dissuade me from having a personal faith in and relationship to God that has given me hope, inspiration, and strength to carry on in my day to day living.
