Calvin Wilson:  

Life After graduating in 1973, I attended the United States Air Force Academy. Finding that didn't like the military BS I left there and began working for Illinois Power in 1975 as a radio and switchboard operator. I then became a meter reader in 1976. In 1978 I became an apprentice lineman. In February 1979 my daughter was born. In 1983 my son was born and I also became a journeyman lineman. In 1986 I became a night troubleman in Granite City, Illinois. In February of 1987 I became an electric distribution superintendent in Bloomington, Illinois. I was the first black person to obtain this position. I April of 1994 I suffered 2 out of my 4 strokes. In October of 1994 I was diagnosed with Multiple Scloresis and retired on disability. After being treated with betaseron, my MS went in remission in mid-1995. Currently I am still in remission. In May of 1998 my granddaughter was born and in October of 2000 my grandson was born.I still live in Bloomington, Illinois.
