Camie's Story
After school I went to work for Seattle 1st National Bank. I joined the Air Force. After leaving the service we started a family. I have three children. Thomas is now 30, Amy who is 28 and Amanda who is 27. Tom was my stepson to start with and finally adopted him when he was 4. I moved to Oregon and lived there for 15 years. In that time I worked with the U.S. Postal Service. I married and lived in Grants Pass, Oregon. It was a great place to raise children. I moved to Sacramento, California where I volunteered at the kids school and over time I became the food service manager and back in 2001. I went back to school and got my A.A. in Dietary Nutrition. After I retired I started as an advocate for children and adults. This was a new beginning for me; I've had 16 foster children come through my home over the years. In 2003 I had my first grandson Sean. What a joy! A year later along came my second grandson, Timothy. As fate would have it I found myself raising the oldest one. We found out at about 2 he had AspergerâÂÂs syndrome or high functioning Autism. I moved back to Oregon with my oldest daughter and both grandson and settled in Klamath Falls. Best move I ever made. IâÂÂm an Adult and ChildrenâÂÂs Advocate. I have been a volunteer with Head Start fro...Expand for more
m 2006-2012. I'm involved with the boyâÂÂs schools and have recently gone back to school myself. I'm working on B.A. in Early Childhood Education with special needs with a minor in ADA law. The school load is heavy but the boys and I find many ways to relax. We are big on nature and wild life. We love to camp, hiking, ride bikes and go four wheeling in the Jeep. We travel to the other side of the mountains to see my dad and my sister, Sharon and Roxann. Doug lives in Grants Pass now with his wife Sally. My mom passed away in 2004.We all misses her. My son Tom has joined the Navy; he is currently stationed in Everett on the USS Nimitz.
Well graduation was a blast I graduated with honors and was the V.P. of Phi Theta Kappa, President of the Arts Club, and Reporter for the FFA Club and was a member of the VeteranâÂÂs Club and the Diversity Club. After graduation I moved back home to Washington with Dan getting ready for the second and at that point a much slower paced lifestyle, however this would not be the case. Needless to say Sean has come to live with us and things are going find. IâÂÂm at his school aiding in one of the first grade classrooms and loving it, so all in all school was most definitely worth it. The life story is still being written daily.
