Life (my favorite saying) I live in Bakersfield and have since I left Lompoc in 1977 to go to college (Cal State University, Bakersfield). It was one of about 2 that had my specific major: Laboratory Science. It only took me 5 years to finish. While in college I met and married Steve Laird. We have two sons: Matthew (31) and Andrew (24). Matt lives in town, is married and and we are grandparents to 3 beautiful children. Andrew just moved out and is in his senior year of college. I am a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (per State of CA). I have directed/supervised a doctors office laboratory, a hospital laboratory, and a large clinic laboratory. Right now I am just a "worker bee" and I love it: no more "raising" employees. Steve & I have been very active in our sons activities. From school (parochial school K - 12), sports (football, basketball, baseball, and soccer), and church activities.
