Curtis's Story
I was a quiet and shy person in school and socialized with a small group of friends. We all worked at the Union 76 truck stop together. What happened to me was I started working while in my junior year started to go to school only half days. Graduated midterm and never looked back.
I never attended any school functions. and hung out with the people I worked with.
I'm more outgoing now and after a couple jobs started working for the State of California. I went to work for the prison system. After 28 years I retired at 50 as a Correctional Lieutenant (Prison Guard) and now is a stay at home Dad. Raising my two boys 14 and 12. My wife works at the ...Expand for more
prison, we did not meet there . We have been married 27 years and live in Lancaster, CA. never moved far from Fontana.
My boys play baseball and other sports. I volunter at the local little league, on the board, and assist with there teams.
I look back and wish I made a few more friends and did a few things while in school. I look at my year book picture and say oh my god...why couldn't my parents let me grow my hair long?? those years were so awkward.
The funny thing is after braces and having both my jaws reconstructed from the nose down I don't look the same. Also since retirement I have grown my hair long. Trying to make up for the past.
