Candace's Story

Life I am currently in Japan as part of the JET program. During my little stint here, I will be teaching English to the local Junior High and Elementary schools as well as an adult conversation class. My time on JET will be done in July. After that, I will be moving in with my boyfriend in a great apartment just outside of Tokyo and hopefully working in a great job in the city. College I graduated from the College of St. Catherine in Fall 2004 with a degree in Political Science and Economics, emphasis on International Relations. While in college my main activities where within the Political Science club, Lambda Sigma Tau (me?! a sorority girl?! you...Expand for more
better believe it!). I also got into politics heavily and did a lot of volunteering for campaigns. While in college, I studied abroad in Tokyo. I guess you can say it was a major turning point in my life. Workplace Instead of going into the facinating world of politics right out of college I decided to run away to Japan. I am currently a part of the JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) program. As the token foreigner of my little town, it is my job to educate and "internationalize" the citizens. It's a hard job, but someone's got to do it. Who am I kidding? It's easy! I just act like myself. For some reason, everyone thinks that is facinating.
