Candy's Story
I always wanted to be a police officer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a out to lunch idea. As it turns out, they were partially wrong. I worked 29 yrs. as a hairdresser, went to college and got my Criminal Justice Degree and Corrections Degree. I then worked 2 yrs. at the WSP. 1 yr. in Inmate Property and 1 yr. as a Supervisor of the Inmate Store. For the last 10 yrs.I have been an Armed Security Officer for the Government, the USACE.This is one reason I get so teary eyed when I see soldiers on TV or in the media. Some of them are my friends, my friends sons and daughters, and employees from my work. And they are there for you and I.
Recently, I was awarded The Commander Merit Award by my LTC.and Major for chasing down a thief going through the Government cars.
My job requires me to carry and certify yearly with my Gun, Mace and cuffs. That should throw the fear of God into my classmates!
I just completed certification as an Emergency Medical First Responder.
To Relax:
Play with my grandson, go out on a ride with my son while he is on duty, (he's a Police Officer) Excercise, take a Bubble Bath, take my puppy to the puppy park, cruise the computer.
My passion is animal rights In fact, call it an obsession. We have one cocker spaniel(Bogey) that's convinced he is our son and a cat (Kenneth) th...Expand for more
at was a rescue gone bad. He rules the house with an iron paw.But we love him. I now volunteer at the Tri Cities Animal Shelter.
My oldest and dearest friend is Kate Read..We lived a block apart and started Berney together. We've been BF ever since.
If I could do one thing over, it would be to stay in close contact with my friends.
Shelley, Poe, Carrie, Kathy P. Kate.I adore you all. After the reunion, I came away with tears and emails. Tears of joy for seeing them again and emails to stay in contact. I don't ever want to loose them again.
Glenn and I just celebrated our 42th (and they said it wouldn't last)
We have a son, Jeremy, daughter in law Jhoanna and grandson, Justus. Jeremy is a Pasco Police Officer.
Our daughter, Jayme got married in Sept. to Robert. We inherited a 7 yr. old precious grandson in the deal.
They live in Boise .Wish they lived here.
Glenn has worked 22 yrs. at t he WSP in management and this year he transfered to Connell, Coyote Ridge. We are working our way towards Richland. Our house will be on the market by Feb. 6th. Glenn has been comuting to work every day. When we move it will be my turn to commute.
