Candy's Story
Life
Kevin and I have been married now 16 years and still live in San Diego (Scripps Ranch). Kevin still has Mission Janitorial Supplies and my business, Solutions In-Site, is still going strong where I specialize in youth sports.
Grant is now 11 1/2 and enjoys baseball and soccer. Kylie is 10 and loves music - any kind of music she can wiggle to. :) God threw us a curve ball when we had her Kylie was born with a rare genetic disorder called Chromosome Deletion 13. Although her deletion is mild it still takes a village to help her. CD13 was so rare I started a website for it. Crystal, our adorable white lab (and Kylie's service dog) is 6 and loves to be anywhere we are. Crystal helps Kylie use the correct big voice and teaches her responsibility. Since Kylie will not be very tall due to her CD13 we are priming her to use Crystal to solve those challenges.
We spend our "down" time in Mammoth in the summer - mainly for my fix and for our love of golf. In the winter Kevin enjoys skiing (and selling Mission Products - Personally I think it is a an excuse to go skiing!:). Our newest passion is exploring places in our Rhino (4 wheel drive). We have another place on the Kohala Coast that we get to a couple times of year - with gas prices at record highs it is mainly on our frequent flyer miles! We lead a blessed life and give thanks that the bubble continues to have air.
My other family is my close knit friends. We spend quality time at "Mom's Night Out" e...Expand for more
njoying dinner and wine, playing Uno Attack, talking about our kids, complaining about our husbands :) and having an occassional get away together.
School
In Middle School I had major crushes on Shannon (yes - it is a guy!) and Matt.
In high school it was all about Dave...
A teacher that inspired me...can't think of one. That is pretty bad, eh? My inspiration came from a boss who taught me more about life in a few short years.
I would not do school again - growing up is too hard to do. I am having fun watching my children do it!
Funniest memory - probably of all of us girls going to the cabin instead of the school dance.
Happiest - moving back from Montana to GJ because I was home and love sick.
Craziest - I remember a party at my house that someone knocked over the Grandfather clock and broke it. I told my mom that the dog did it - right! And the neighbors didn't see either....NOT
Workplace
I have the greatest job in the world. I get to work out of my house and still be close to my kids. I need to find and kiss whomever created email!
I spent the 1st 7 years of my career traveling all over the world (sometimes on a plane for 25 hours!). It was the greatest education and fondest memories I could have received. Post 9/11 I am not too thrilled about getting on a plane so I am grateful my timing was right on. I love the fact that my son, Grant has the travel passion also and am anxious to see if he follows a path that takes him to explore the world.
