Carey's Story

I took the Apprenticeship test for Mare Island in 84 and worked in the drydocks as a Shipwright until the shipyard closed in 95. I just loved working on the submarines, unfortunately I now have a mouth like a sailor. lol. I transferred to the Post Office in 95 and have been a letter carrier ever since. I really enjoy my job. which is a very good thing with retirement just 6 years away (good grief, can you believe it!). I have had a very satisfying life since high school , knock on wood. I hope everyone is doing well during these tough economic times and all is healthy and happy. Update: Retired in 2018 and now live in the Sierra Foothills, in a wonderful, laid back, conservative community. We have 2 grandchildren that we try to see as often as we can and enjoy weekend trips to Tahoe and surrounding areas for hikes, water sports and of course a little gambling😄. We live a very simple, private life and wouldn’t change a thing. Get vaccinated!
