Philip's Story

After graduating, I enlisted in the Naval Nuclear Power Program. I rose to the rank of Chief Petty Officer and after 12 years was selected as a Nuclear Power Limited Duty Officer. I'm a Journeyman Electrician in "any industry". I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Science & Technology with emphasis in Nuclear Engeering Techology from Thomas Edison State College and my Master of Science Degree in Project Management from Penn State. rriers, a Submarine Tender, and various shore repair facilities as an Electrician, Electrical Supervisor, Ship Superintendant, Main Propulsion Technical Assistant, Asst Reactor Maintenance Officer, Quality Assurance Officer (twice), Reactor Maintenance Officer, Project Superintendent, Production Management Assistant, and Asst Repair Officer. In the summer of 2018, I will assume command of the Navy's only floating Drydock ARCO (ARDM 5). When stationed in California my first time, I married Laarissa Alton of Ventura, CA. Since marrying over 20 years ago, we have had seven children (5 girls, 2 boys)
