Carissa's Story
Life
I graduated high school in 1998 and went on to college at TCU. I graduated there in 2002 with a BS in Communications. I still live in Dallas. I am now happily married and enjoy life.
School
There is no way I would go back to high school. I know that I learned a lot about life while I was there, but that was then. My life is too great now to leave it.
College
As a senior in high school, I decided that TCU was the college for me. My dad and I went on a campus tour and I just knew that was it. I didn't know anyone else that was going to be going there. In May as I was graduating, I ran into a family friend and it turned out that she was going to TCU and didn't have a roommate yet. So we signed up to room together our freshman year in the dorms. turned out to be great friends and ended up living together all 4 years of college. Our junior and senior years, we split a 4 bedroom apartment with 2 other friends. We shared the best of times through those 4 years. Laura and I also ended up pledging the same sorority and made so many other friends through that. Our sophomore year of college, Laura introduced me to my now husband. Thank God that we were roommates.
Workplace
When I graduated college in 2002 I knew that I needed to get a "real" job. I immediately started interviewing with several large financial firms in the Dallas area. In August of 2002 I was hired by Vision Wealth Management, Inc. as the Director of Client Services. I am still with the company and have grown a lot with my experiences here.
