Carl's Story
Hello, folks.
Since graduating from 'Commie High,' two great, smart, loving, fun, wonderful kids.
I'm an engineer by profession, and still play a lot of guitar, one of my first and forever passions. Pit bands for musicals, ensembles, big bands, you name it.
For those of you who were in or remember the CHSJE, I was just in touch with Bart Polot. He's still a fantastic teacher/musician/arranger and the best of guys.
We had some amazing times at CHS, didn't we? It really was an exceptional school, we had more character than any other school I can think of - honestly, John Ryan, our Homecoming Queen? A jazz ensemble with anyone who could play, didn't matter...Expand for more
what instrument? Such a close knit theatre group? Marion's AP Chemistry at some ridiculously early hour? Where 'life-experience' counted for credit? Where the school cafeteria was Cosmo's Deli at Kerry Town?
After graduating from CHS, it was off to Michigan Tech. Was the best darned college jazz band in the midwest, directed by Don Keranen. Those guys, and a great group of guys with whom I formed a rock band were what kept me sane up there in 'Hoton.'
I'm in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, and am a system engineer and project lead by career. I hope to hear from you! If you're ever in the area, let me know, I'd love to get together.
