Hello Everyone! I am Carla Sue Ponder from the class of 1976.I went to E.B Erwin all of my school years~with the exception of my senior year.In May of 1975 my Parents sold our house and moved to Ohio. Where I stayed less than a month and moved back to Birmingham to live with my best friend.We went to Gardendale Vocational school. I spent my senior year, in the 11th grade! So I did not graduate with everyone I went to school with all my life, I dropped out.(My dreams had been shattered.) I wondered back and forth from Ohio to Alabama for several years.But finally wound up in Ohio and settled down.In 1990 I met my son's father at work.Now 21 yrs later and we are still together and have a decent life.We are both Medically retired from our jobs. In 2007 our lives changed dramatically. I had 2 major heart attacks and Tony had 2 strokes.We were both hospitalized leaving our 15 yr. old ALONE with my Mother (who was seriously ill.)Cody grew up QUICKLY.(My son) I had open heart surgery in August of 2006 having 5 by-pass done.From there I went in a Nursing Home to recuperate from the heart surgery and the amputations I was experiencing- and yet to experience 3 times total surgeries removing portions of my legs!!!!SO February 25,2008 I became a double amputee. Thanks to the Medical Community. This was caused by a MEDICAL MISTAKE!!! (Which goes UNPUNISHED!)
