Carlene's Story
Life
i have been married for 37 years to the same person. lived in fremont for 30 years and then moved to the wine country in 2000. i have 2 kids and 4 grandson and 1 granddaughter on the way. both of my kids live out of state.
i worked after getting out of high school. went to chabot after i got married and had kids. in 1982 i started driving school bus for the special ed kids. i really liked my job. it help put my kids thru college. great job, could work during the summer or i didn't have too. both my kids graduated from college, one from chico state and the other from santa clara university. my son played pro baseball for 3 years. both kids doing really good.
since we retired, we have been traveling. we have been to alaska 3 times, once with our rv and 2 cruises, been across the united states 2 times. been to the panama canal, italy....Expand for more
we haven't sat still.
now that we have 5 grandkids, we go and see them about 2 to 3 times a year. so all our traveling is done by air or we travel to montana by car. miss having them close by.
As of July 2010 I have been married for 40 yrs. My husband went back to work part-time to get his social security That"s for 2 yrs. So we don"t get to see our grandkids much until after he is done working. He is a security guard at a wine makers ranch. We sold our trailer so their is no more camping for right now. We try to keep busy.
Our little town was voted the smallest little town on the west coast. It came in 1st place. Then across the United States we were voted 3rd place. This town closes up at 5:00 pm every day. But their is something going on here all the time. . It is nice up here, it is really pretty when the vineyards change colors.
