Carmella's Story
Life
I did one year at San Marcos and then went to Midland. I spent almost two years there and then ran away to be with my husband Earl. We've got three wonderful children: Chris 17, Eric 16, and Kyrie 11. They are the loves of our lives, excepting eachother of course.
I still live in Utah and have been a born-again Christian for 7 years now. God has blessed me greatly by keeping my husband and me together, providing for us, protecting my children, etc. I have a deep and abiding relationship with Jesus and love to talk to others about Him as much as I can. When you've experienced the beautiful sea shore, why bother playing with mud-pies in the slums?
Last December (2004) I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Criminology at the University of Utah. It's been a long run and there were many days I thought I'd never achieve the degree. Being a good example to my kids and teaching them that a college degree is very important, and that it's never too late to get an education, kept me trodding on (with obvious breaks here and there). That may have paid off. My middle son Eric is about to...Expand for more
attend a charter school at our local community college where he'll get an associates degree at the same time as he completes high school and go on to recieve a scholarship to attend any university in Utah with a major in biotechnology. I'm extremely proud of him. In truth, we're very proud of all our children. They are all very intelligent, loving, beautiful people. And I'm not partial at all!
My career interest is in corporate security but for now I continue to work for Continental Airlines.
I really enjoy singing, dancing (which should be of no surprise to those who knew me at Midland), eating out, and studying the Bible. I very much want to learn Aramaic and Greek (ancient) so that I can read the Bible in the original languages. At church I'm involved in several ministries. Currently I'm working with a local Hispanic church, and a women's Bible study. I'm also involved with programs for the Hispanic children in the neighborhood where our church is located and am about to begin teaching Bible studies at the local jail.
And if this sounds too happy to be real, too bad. I love life. :)
