Carmelo's Story

Carmelo is from Bronx, New York. He is single. His schools include Olinville Junior High School 113. Went on to Evander till mid 1962. My Dad retired and moved us to Puerto Rico where I finished high school in the small town of Corozal. On to the University of Puerto Rico only to leave after a year and a half to join the U.S. Air Force. After three years plus a year in Vietnam I moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where I finished my college education starting at the University of Cincinnati, College of Nursing and finished at the College of Mount St. Joseph (BS Nursing), Married Janet Wheeler, who I met in the Air Force, had four children, Jennifer, Maria, and the twins Jason and Jacob. at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati for 31 years. I worked the O.R. mainly, specializing in Cardiothorasic and vascular surgery and then into Open Heart surgery. Hemodialysis is the other specialization I acquired. Retired from The Christ Hospital in 2000, I continue with nursing to the present day. Working as a Traveling Nurse I get to visit with my children and grandchildren at my leisure. I continue with my passion for photography and doing an ancestry research of my family. The Evander 40 year class reunion was a blast in 2003 getting to meet many classmates from the past and even Mr.Otto Schmitt was there from old Olinville JHS. Feel free to get in touch. I got many a story to share.

Don Quixote painting done with a pallet knife which I purchased in Hyde Park, London. It was done by a Spanish artist from Burgos. He wanted 60 pounds sterling. I got him down to 30.
