Carmen's Story
Life
My birth name is Carmen Mendoza. I grew up in Malaga and went to Malaga Elementary School. I then attended Fowler High School from August 1978 - June 1982. I had a great time in high school. Made lots of lifelong memories with everyone I came into contact with. My wonderful friend, Martina Vasquez (outgoing homecoming queen), crowned me homecoming queen my senior year in high school, 1982. This was one of the highlights of my high school years.
I went to Fresno City College, full time, for 3 semesters and then began working as a bookkeeper/payroll person for Command Performance hair salons, from 12/82-2/85. From there I went to work at a CPA firm downtown Fresno, from 3/85 - 1/88. I was offered a job from one of the tenants in the CPA firm's building and I accepted and moved to San Diego, with my boyfriend at the time. I lived there from 2/88 - 5/88. Unfortunately, it wasn't a good situation, so I came back to Fresno and began working at Fresno City College, Admission and Records Office, in July 1988 and I was just recognize for 20 yrs of service to Fresno City College this year, 2008.
I got married in April 1989. Had my first child, Aaron Rodriguez, on Dec. 27, 1990. Purchased my first home in Selma in 1993. Had my second child, Nikolas Ryan Rodriguez, on Mar 10, 1999. Divorced in May 2002.
I remarried, the love of my life, Thomas Alessandro, who I met in Las Vegas in 2001, at a CSEA ...Expand for more
(Union) conference, on Sept. 18, 2004. He lived in Rancho Cucamonga and we would see each other on weekends and holidays. We purchased a home in Sanger, where we now live.
My husband is self employed and I am his partner in the business, also. We are in the business of building and protecting wealth for families forever. If you want to know more about that, email me and we can show you how that is possible. Life changing information! Something that all young adults should know graduating from high school. Information I wished I knew when I was 18 yrs old. But, SO GLAD, I know now and I am just dying to share info with everyone.
I am very Blessed with a wonderful and devoted husband, a loving family, health, home and unforgettable friendships.
Workplace:
I am a student services specialist in the Admissions and Registration Office at Fresno City College. I began my career as an Office Assistant I. During that time, I temporarily filled an Office Assistant III position, until it was filled by a permanent person. I promoted to a Department Secretary within the District and this position took me to Reedley College for one year. Then I tested and interviewed and was hired an a Student Services Specialist, which I am currently employed as. I oversee the Admissions and Registration Office with the assistance of two other fellow specialists. So if you are ever on campus, please stop by and say Hello!
