Carmen's Story
Carmen got married to FRANCISCO GARCIA during Jr yr high school, and helped sister in law, BIANCA M GARCIA... both Garcia's from HILLCREST HIGH SCHOOL, get enrolled at TTHS. Carmen now lives in Springfield, Illinois.with her son, one of only two children from that marriage. Carmen is widowed with death of Hamzi Safieddine from the Hariri family since 1991. Carmen's schools include Thornton Township High School. Carmen later attended University of Illinois Springfield (Environmental Impact Assessment), Olive-Harvey College (Basic Studies in 1972), Madonna College (History of Art, and Paralegalism /Real Estate Law), South Suburban Community College (Business Law, Real Estate, Basic Studies), Eastern Michigan University (Land Use & Environmental Planning, Cartography). Carmen worked at State of Illinois, McNamee, Porter & Seeley and Washtenaw County Drain Commission.
Carmen's favorite athletes include Tarec Saffiedine. Music Carmen likes includes Urban Praise, Keith Sweat, Diane Witherspoon. Books Carmen likes include The Old Farmers Almanac, Black's Law Dictionary. Movies Carmen likes include SNITCH, Comedy, Where the Wild Things Are. TV shows Carmen likes include Food Network, Giada De Laurentiis, Orphan Black.

in 1991 I woke up from something that must have been a "blackout" ...my door open and I was bleeding from a gash in the groin. I mispelled SAFIEDDINE as SAFFIEDINE and was slurring my first and last name. I couldn't remember where my teenage son was. There were riots going on in town. Was that a strike?
in 1st and 2nd grade the teacher asked WHO MY FATHER WAS. On one occasion I told her GOD... my grandfather was a christian minister and to him, that was a "good answer." The next time around (because I "hadn't done my homework"at getting that answer)... the teacher insisted on me telling her who he was; but all I could say was "I DON't KNOW, I wasn't there." After getting many whippings from parents for being "FROWARD of mouth on that regard, I finally reached age 18 to hear that my father was a CROSS and met a person who claimed to be that. So, elementary school classmates... my confession... MY FATHER WAS A CROSS. (ergo I bear that name)
I DON't GAMBLE, smoke nor do drugs... I have begun to follow doctor's orders and sip wine now and then.".
