Carmen's Story
I attended Garfield from 1956-1959. I have many fond memories of my years there. Had many a good time with my friends Tonia (Vasquez) and Rosie (Enriquez) we were young and shared many laughs. Wonder what they are doing now?
After graduating I worked at an insurance company in L.A., and left when I married Rudy Barela in 1960. He also attended Garfield (S'59). We have five loving and very remarkable children, three girls and two boy...Expand for more
s. I was a stay at home mom. The marriage broke up after 28 years.
I went back to work this time as a dispatcher for a "big name" repair center. Then went on to work in human resouces for the same company. I left the company after 14 years. From there I worked in the front office of a busy plastics distributor for 12 years.
My children and my grandchildren (I have eight), five boys, and three girls, are my life and my heart.
