Carol's Story
After graduating from EHS in '65 I attended Southern Illinois University and received my BS in English Ed. in 1969. I went to grad school at SIU and received my MA in English in 1971. I then moved to Denver CO. I taught English at Westminster HIgh School for 32 years, retiring in 2003. Except for 1 year in Denver and 4 years in Thornton CO. I have resided (and still do) in Westminster CO. (45 years), a suburb of Denver. I have one daughter, Morgan McCauley, 40, a sound designer at the Arvada (CO., another suburb of Denver) Center for the Arts and Humanities. She has a BA in Theater from the University of Northern Colorado and an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts in Santa Clarita CA (just north of LA). aughters, Chris, 44, and Melissa, 38. Sadly, no one has been willing to give us any grandchildren. I still teach, now at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, an organization devoted to providing learning opportunities for retired citizens (primarily retired professionals from various walks of life). I also sing and dance with The Northland Chorale, a performing show chorale and nonprofit community group. Am still active in politics (my first husband, now deceased, was a politician as well as an attorney), and the retired teacher's association in Westminster. In my "spare" time I love to read (belong to two book clubs) and play bridge (although I have discovered I only play the "old" form of contract bridge). We love to travel when we can, but my husband is still not retired, so we are still a bit limited on time.
