Carol's Story
I attended William and Mary directly after graduation. In 1963, I married and moved to Topeka, Kansas.
I taught high school English, history and government for 9 years. After receiving a master's degree in library science, I was a school librarian/media specialist and public librarian for 31 years. I retired last summer.

My late husband and I did not intend to stay in Kansas, but despite other opportunities, we never left. The big skies, the 360 degree vistas, the midwestern kindliness, the absence of traffic, Kansas Jayhawk athletics are big pluses.
I am spending my first year of retirement being wonderfully indolent: reading, meeting with friends, a little travel, and a little volunteer work.
I am a political junkie of the liberal persuasion.
