Carol's Story
Hi,
My name is Carol Boulden. I grew up on Vassar Ave in Newark, NJ. I started at Weequahic in Sept '75 and met my high school sweetheart Bernard. I was actually introducted to Bernard by my good friend Phyllis Renee Taylor. That year is very memorable to me. I had so mcuh fun. The following year I came back and school was not of interest to me, so I left around mid October. I went through some growing pains and eventually went back to school in October '78. It was an alternative school called St. Annes, it was over on South 16th St. I stayed there for about a year and BOLDLY decided to go back to Weeequahic in Sept '79. By that time all of my classmates from Maple Lyons had graduated. I was told ...Expand for more
I would have to do another year and said, not me, and took the test for my GED and got it August of '80. In September, I did some volunteer work at Beth Isreal and applied to Rutgers and took two classes at night during the Spring '81 semester and worked at the SYEP program during the day at 32 Green Street. Then, later that year, I joined the Army Reserves and left for Fort Jackson, SC on July 10, 1981 and came back home in March. My father sold our house and I moved to PA with him and started at Glassboro State in South Jersey in January '83.
I would love to talk to the people I grew up with and went to school with back in the day. So, please do give me a shout out. Let's talk.
Peace.. Carol
