Carol's Story
In 2009, I made a video DVD of 30 Children's Songs/Nursery Rhymes for my then 3 year old grandson, Daniel, and have uploaded 10 of those songs onto my YouTube channel. After graduating from high school in 1959, I graduated from San Diego State in 1963, married Daniel John Collins in 1964 and we were blessed with 3 children, Fred in 1969, Steve in 1971 and Deana in 1973. I have been an office worker, teacher, musician and medical transcriptionist. In addition to having taught music in grades K-8 and having done substitute teaching in grades K-12, I have been a church organist and choir director, private piano, organ, guitar and voice teacher and have played as a professional keyboard player in many dance band combos. l Johnston" at the Green Bay Civic Theater in Green Bay, WI. In 1997, when I was playing keyboards with the country music band "Heartland", we "opened" for country music star "Rick Trevino" at the Convention Center in Oshkosh, WI.
Dan was a career 30-year US Navy military man, but unfortunately we lost him in 2001 at the age of 59. Our oldest son, Fred--an independent business owner--was recognized in the March 2007 issue of Bass Guitar Magazine. Our second son, Steve, (an NU-New York graduate and IT computer programmer/consultant) and his wife, Renee, are the parents of my grandson, Daniel John, (yes, named after his grandfather). Our daughter, Deana--our youngest child, has been teaching high school since 1997 and received her Master's Degree from UW-Oshkosh in 2003. Deana and her husband, Jason, have been blessed with my other two grandsons, Ian in 2011 and Seth in 2012. Jason's older son, T.J., is the father of my step-great-granddaughter, Maddie, born 4/14/14.
