Carol's Story
Hello, PHS class of 69!
Here's my life story post high school. I look forward to reading yours.
Graduated from San Diego State in '73 (Jane Miller was my roomate for some of that--'member her?)
Married my college sweetheart Terry Houghton in '74.
Daughter Joy Noel born 10/77.
Moved to Illinois in 1980.
Thomas Glenn Houghton born March '81.
Terry died in 11/81, and we moved back to So. Cal to be near my mother.
Got my teaching credential in '86.
Married Richard Winslow in '87.
Thom had serious health issues, and spent the better part of '99-2000 in City of Hope. Survived bone marrow transplant.
Divorced in 2002.
Started teaching Special Ed in Chino Uni...Expand for more
fied in 2007.
Most of this time I've been a born-again Christian, and played alot of music in church. I've started playing bass the last four years, and am having a blast. (Playin' bass and singin' soprano--only a woman can do that!)I'm working on writing my second novel.
My daughter Joy teaches political science at Mt. Sac, and Thom is an underemployed musician. They are great human beings, and my greatest gift. Joy is married, but no grandkids for me yet. They bug me about getting married again (I wrote a song called "Third Time's a Charm"), so I'm conceding MAYBE if I find a nice widower with lots of grandchildren. Otherwise, don't hold your breath.
