Life After graduating from Treadwell, I went to Union and then came back home to then MSU where I received a dual major in history and sociology and not really knowing what else to do I joined the Navy. When to OCS in Newport. RI for four months and then on to lower Manhatten to the post office building next to the twin towers which where still under construction. Figured I would hate New York but it was probably two of the most fun and interesting years of my life. Went to parties on foreign ships, when foreign ships came into the dock at the admiral's house, met people who worked at the UN. Amid all this fun I met and married my husband and at this point we are still married and it is going on 34 years. After two years active duty stayed in the reserves for 20 more years and retired as a CDR. We moved back to Memphis where I got my MA in soc and in fact worked at the school of business as a statistical research associate.
