Carol's Story
lived all over the world as an officer's wife with three children. All boys! Loved my life while my husband was in the military and we lived in Europe for eight years. Great place to raise kids at that time. Right now my son is on Hospice care in my home and dying of a genetic condition called Friedreich's Ataxia. My son just had his 40th birthday and we are thrilled to be blessed with him for so long. My middle son died at the age of 25, ten years ago and my youngest is in Iraq right now. Yes, I can smile because of the Lord. Our lives are very involved in our church. Something I never had or knew about in High School. In between care which takes up most of my time I love decorating, walks in the woods near our house about four times a week. I love my two dogs, cocker/poodle mix. My husband and I teach marriage classes. One in ...Expand for more
the spring and one in the fall for 14 weeks each. we've been married 43 years. That's enough for now.
I always wanted to be a "paid nurse" when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a fine idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. I ended up not getting paid! But really I was with abundant blessings. UPDATE...About the same for Nov 2011. Just got back from 45th reunion and son is still on hospice and other son is still in Iraq. I think I wrote the first part at least a year ago. Not a member of classmates so only see this once a year. UPDATE...Been to 50th reunion 3 years ago and will go to 60th God willing. My oldest son past away in 2012 and was on hospise 3 years +. We are traveling quite a lot now that my husband has retired. 50th anniversary in June. All is well with my soul and hope it is with yours. Carol
