Carol's Story
After a couple of education degrees, I just retired from teaching this past August. Being a recent retiree, I'm struggling with what I want to do with my life. What is my vision now?
I volunteer one day a week at Operation Wild Life (OWL), a rehab facility for raptors and other mammals native to this area. People find and bring injured, sick or orphaned animals to us for rehabilitation. And...I'm doing some substitute teaching and homebound teaching. Next spring I'm taking some training to be a zoo docent at the Kansas City Zoo so I'm looking forward to t...Expand for more
hat. Still, I'm unfulfilled. There's something else I need to do--kind of like the pensive face (or faces) in my display PIC.
I have one grown daughter and two grandchildren. Unfortunately, I don't see them much--their choice. However, I have two wonderful American Eskimo (Eskie) dogs (in the PIC, of course) who love to hike daily and shower me with kisses and snuggles of unconditional love. They are a large part of my life.
Well, that's about it for now. I'm loving the Kansas City weather this year. Crisp mornings and low temps are the best.
Enjoy!
