Carol's Story

In May 0f 1961, I married Gayle William Taylor (Class of Jan 59), We had our first child in October 1962 and subsequently had 4 more children. So, we have 5 kids. All of whom are college grads We have 9 grand children My two oldest grand daughters have graduated from University and our 3rd grand daughter just graduated (magna cum laude)from high school and is attending Westminster College on a full scholarship. Her name is Caroline and she is an awesome singer, marksman, equestrian, cellest and pianist. The other grandkids are all under 9, 5 boys and a 4 year old girl. All of the kids and grandkids are musicians, dancers, artists and all do sports. Our 10 year old Texan does ironman marathons, karate, and plays piano. The 9 and 10 year old play piano, dance, do theater, play baseball are training with their dad and grandfather for football, My claim to fame was my llama, Harry S Truman. I teach piano, voice and theater and have a small production company. I will not retire from teaching as it is my passion. I thought performing was my destiny and I performed for years, however, teaching music is what I love to do. I have students performing all over the world. If you go to Disney in Orlando, the current Rapunzell is mine, she is also Marilyn Monroe at Universal. Gayle lives in North Carolina and I live in St. Charles. He has been here for the fast 5 weeks and will be back in October. He has lost most of his eyesight and there is not much he can do here. So hes in NC with our oldest daughter. He can walk to his horses, has his dog and spends time with his football buddies and frat brothers from Duke. I live in a new urban apt complex at hwy 70 and 5th st in St. Charles, Missouri. I live a couple of blocks behind Tucanos in a small but cute apt. Looking forward to the next reunion. Will have to see if I am brave enough to come. My sister Patty just reti...Expand for more
red after teaching music for 38 years in Webster (her last name is Lee) and my youngest sister Linda is a bank vice president in New York City. . So, I guess this is a good overview of the past 53 years. I live a busy but quiet life surrounded by kids and life is pretty good. Upon reflection of my high school days.....most of it was great.....the summer after graduation was quite unhappy for me....thinking back tho, I decided that high school was a bit like One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. Culminating in some nut (yes I know his name) swinging through the esplanade trees, calling my name and wearing nothing but a jock strap and no I didnt look , however my 9 and 10 year old grandsons love the story and ask for it regularly. I guess that which I am most proud of is getting 5 kids, a son in law and a foster son through college and Gayle getting a degree in education in addition to his bachelors in business and getting his masters degree and having a second career as a high school teacher and a football coach. All that ended as his vision failed but he loved teaching. I have just finished a book and hope it will be published soon. We are in the editing process. Hope to hear from some of you and hope everyone is well and happy. Never thought much about getting old but realizing that 9 people called me grandma...made me realize that yep it's here, HUMMMMM Am currently recovering from major surgery on C2, C3, C4, C5, C6, on my spine and am now wearing a very sporty neck brace and will be wearing it for quite awhile. I guess that's it. Nothing really very interesting . This last week our youngest son Danny, passed away leaving 4 little boys 10 and under. (March 1, 2014). Too much sadness. He died of a massive seizure while sleeping . If you pray, please pray for four little boys Daine, Miko, Achilles, and Ares and a heart broken young wife named Stephanie...Carol
