Carol's Story
Life
Since graduating from Walterboro High in 1973 I attended college in Texas and started teaching there.It was in Texas where I met my husband,Joseph. We have been married for over twenty-five years and have two wonderful children. No one ever said raising children would be so hard, but thank God we made it.
I was working as an educational consultant training teachers across the country. In my travels I have met many people from SC and even a few from Walterboro. As of August 2007, I am no longer consulting. I felt myself getting too old to hop from plane to plane. So, I went back to my first love, teachng. I want to retire from the classroom. I can officially retire next year if I so desire. Don't know if I will, but it sure will be good knowing that I can. (Hip, Hip, Hooray!)

College
My college years were what I call my coming out years. Those were the years I began to grow and blossom. I had always been shy and an introvert,but I was beginning to find myself and build confidence.
I pledged the pink and green, AKA, and that helped to open doors to me that I never could have imagined.After the first year of my new found freedom and partying, I hit the books and graduated with a 3.87. Had three job offers at graduation. Stayed in Texas because they paid better and life has only gotten better. I can surely say, my college years were the best! Had my heart broken and even broke a few of my own along the way.
Have been to reunions for college and a lot of us still keep in contact. One thing I have come to realize and that is for us old people, we are still looking good.
