Carol's Story
After high school, I went to college and studied nursing. I worked in psychiatric nursing for several years in San Francisco and San Mateo, until my first child was born. Seven years later, with two children, I went back to graduate school at UCSF and got my Master's degree, also in nursing. I worked for several years in community health with the elderly, until I decided I needed a change. I then went to work as a clinical research associate for a pharmaceutical company. 15 years. I had studies all around the world, so the travel was both exhausting and exhilarating.
In 2003, I decided to take a sabbatical, and I am, apparently, still on it!
During those years I was also involved in the community. I served on my children's school board for 6 years, and have been an active volunteer in my community.
I have four grandchildren - a boy and a girl from each of my daughters. They range in age from 3 1/2 to 3 months. Quite the melee when they are all together. But they make growing older a whole lot more fun!
