Carol's Story

Life Upon graduating from Roosevelt a year early in 1975, I began my quest to travel to different parts of the world. I also realized I wanted to pursue a degree and attended the University of Texas in Austin from 1976-1980. I earned a BS in Advertising and worked in Advertising, Communications, Public Relations and my favorite, International Marketing, from 1981-1997. In my last position at Dell, Inc., I oversaw all advertising for Central and South America (in Spanish). I also speak Mandarin Chinese. o, who is named after the highest peak of Mt Kilaminjaro in Africa. My husband of nearly 22 years (as of February 15, 2008) is from South Africa. Together, we have travelled to more than 65 countries, but love living in Austin. Our son, now 10, is on his second passport and has travelled to more than 20 countries on six continents. Due to our travels and careers, we started our family late and only have one child. However, we feel blessed to have one exceptional son, to have had the experiences we've had so far, and to enjoy such a fantastic lifestyle here in Austin.
